Mission

Our mission is to aid our greater Winston-Salem/Forsyth County, NC community by ensuring more youth are given every fair and equal opportunity to better their academic advancement and overall quality of life outcomes by providing our services at no cost.

End-of-year assessment scores in our area over the last few years consistently show that only 50% or less of early learners are proficient in their reading and math skills. More than 50% of school-aged children here are also categorized as economically disadvantaged. The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic has worsened these statistics. Literacy scores have dropped to new lows of 30-40% of learners showing proficiency, and the numbers of those categorized as economically disadvantaged are rising. We strive to offer all of our students equitable solutions to their learning challenges.
